“Yeah?” That one word had a lot in it: weary surprise, curiousity, and 'of course,' “I keep 'em and I try to remember to date them when I open 'em, so I can keep them all in order. I shouldn't have to ask you to explain again if the dragonborn you guys dealt with like six side-quests ago was chromatic or metallic when I can look it up without, y'know, wasting your time.”
It was maybe a bad example, because a dragonborn's colouration should stick, but it was an alright example inasfar as it illustrated her willingness to pay attention to these things. Still, Sam's attention shifted to the hurt of the here-and-now, drawn to what she could already see of the burn, and she hissed in sympathy as she reached over---slowly, telegraphing her intent---to begin removing the bandage.
“I can.” She spoke quietly, calmly, and with absolute conviction. “It's the sort of thing my magic is meant for.”
Her eyes flickered back to his face, and since it felt right, she fell back onto her bad sense of humour, little wiseass grin and all. “Goes to show, blood magic doesn't have to be as bad as it sounds.”
